2021 Community Reforms, Resource Investigation & Environmental Learning Center Project

In recent years, community development has become diversified. Community is not only a platform for citizen participation, but also a media for important policy promotion. Undoubtedly, the environmental quality is the step for community development. Therefore, the Environmental Protection Administration of Executive Yuan has implemented a series of environmental reforms since 1997. In order to promote the environmental quality of community, the main characteristics of these environmental reforms are focusing on both bottom-up mechanisms and local community demands. The major works of this project included: (1) to hold both appraisal meetings for multi-community and environmental learning center applicants and assistant meeting for local government public servants, (2) to assist local governments in implementing environmental reforms, resource investigation and environmental learning center projects, to provide on-the-spot technical counseling and to analyze community indicators on a quarter basis, (3) to convene a local government public servants guidance meeting, to hold the experience sharing and application guideline for next year conferences to promoting the understanding among different communities and the important issues for project application, (4) to have a training class for seed teachers of communities to cultivate environmental education, (5) to establish an Community Environmental Action Website to advocate the meaning and practice of community reform and environmental learning center projects, (6) to conduct an environmental literacy survey for Community Reform, Resource Investigation and Environmental Learning Center in order to evaluate project performance, (7) to edit and produce videos related to community joint proposals and environmental protection elementary school achievements for publicizing plans and sharing community achievements.
